EARTHQUAKE RELIEF FOR SYRIA
On February 6, 2023, a powerful 7.8 magnitude earthquake and a series of strong tremors and aftershocks devastated southeast Turkey and northwest Syria. On 18 February, 2023 the death toll has passed 41,000 and continues to rise.
In Syria, more than 500,000 people are believed to have been forced from their homes by the earthquakes. Even before the earthquakes, Syria had the largest number of internally displaced people in the world, with 6.8 million people displaced, including nearly three million children. The ongoing refugee crisis will see even more people battling a life most of us will never understand.
Our hearts go out to the people whose lives have been devastated by the disaster and to those who have lost loved ones or are still waiting to hear, our thoughts are with you.
We have heard from so many families in need and we would love to help them all … well at least try. Together we will help as many families as we can.
