SHOWER REFURBISHMENT PROJECT

LOCAL PROJECT #1

The Hutt St Day Centre provides shower and bathroom facilities from 7am until 1.00pm each day. However, people also come to the centre after-hours when in crisis and often require the use of a shower. The only available shower facility that can be accessed after-hours requires refurbishing, which Hope Charitable Foundation has agreed to undertake.

The refurbishment will not only cater for the needs of those accessing the centre but will also ensure staff have the facilities to freshen up before or after their shifts. Hutt St Centre employs 52 staff and there are 170 active volunteers each week across all areas of the organisation. Staff and volunteers are encouraged to be active in order to maintain their physical and mental health, which further supports them in providing essential services to those challenged by homelessness.

When we work as individuals we can only do so much, but when we come together as a group we can do more than just that, we can build something great. This is what the Hutt St project has been all about.

THE DETAILS

HOPE Charitable Foundation along with the support of our volunteers, sponsors and generous donations of labour and supplies from some of the kindess trades people and retailers in Adelaide, we did it!

At an estimated cost of over $10,000, the task is now complete.
The additional funds generated at the fundraiser allowed us to supply much needed toiletries & necessities to open the facility immediately – we had so much fun, hope you did too!

Your kind donations through the Spares for Homelessness Fundraiser, has made a difference in their lives by providing the means to acquire basic necessities and stability in their lives. This young boy is able to continue at school, thanks to you.

HOPE Charitable Foundation will continue to support Hutt St Centre, and you can support them too. If this Local Project is close to your heart, please join us in making a difference.
